§ 4.5. Home Occupations

Although the location of home occupations (whether within a residential structure or in a separate structure located on the same lot) are shown on the existing land use map, they are not depicted on the future land use map. These home retail and service operations are allowed in residential areas other than subdivisions if they do not create an undue amount of vehicular traffic and do not produce loud noises, objectionable odors, or an unsightly appearance. If the activities are located in separate structures from the residence, they should never contain more square feet or cubic footage than the residential structure and should never dominate the site so as to present a commercial appearance.
