Article 17. LEGAL STATUS


17.1

Introduction

This Ordinance is not intended to interfere with or annual any easement, covenant, or other agreement between parties. However, where this Ordinance imposes a greater restriction upon the use of property or by private easements, covenants, or agreements, the provisions of this Ordinance shall govern. Whenever other ordinances or parts of ordinances require greater restrictions than those required by this ordinance such ordinances or parts of ordinances shall govern.

17.2

Conflicting Regulations Repealed

All ordinances and parts of ordinances, regulations, or laws passed by the County Commission of Meriwether County, Georgia, in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed. All ordinances or parts of ordinances not specifically in conflict herewith are hereby continued in force and effect.

As stated in Article I, the existing Appendix A Zoning of the Code of Ordinances, Meriwether County is here by repealed in its entirety and replaced by this ordinance.

17.3

Validity and Severability

Should any part, section, or provision of this Ordinance be declared invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such declared invalid or unconstitutional part, section or provision shall be deemed severed from this Ordinance and shall not affect the validity of any remaining portion of this Ordinance.

17.4

Adoption Date

This Appendix A, Zoning Ordinance, as Amended 2006, of Meriwether County, Georgia is adopted after public notice and public hearing in the manner provided by law, and after the requisite two readings, by and after a public meeting held this 12th day of April, 2006.

17.5

Effective Date

Enforcement of these regulations shall be administered and become effective on the 12th day of April, 2006.

17.6

Amendments

All amendments, including rewording for clarity and other text changes shall be made pursuant to the provisions of Article 17 set forth herein.
