In pursuance of authority conferred by the Georgia General Planning and Zoning Enabling
Act of 1957, No. 358, as amended, and for the purpose of promoting the health, safety,
morals, convenience, order, prosperity, and general welfare of the municipality; to
encourage economically sound and stable land development; to assure the provisions
of required streets, utilities, and other facilities and service to land development;
to assure the adequate provisions of safe and convenient traffic access and circulation,
both vehicular and pedestrian, in land development; to assure the provisions of needed
public open spaces and public building sites in land development through the dedication
or reservation of land for recreational, educational, and other public purposes; and
to assure that land developed in conformity with the Comprehensive Plan of Meriwether
County, the County Commissioners of Meriwether County, Georgia, do ordain and enact
into law the following articles and sections.
