When the existing land use survey was conducted, only one modern multi-family complex was located in the unincorporated portions of Meriwether County. This facility consisted of apartments. It is apparent that an increasing demand for this type of housing is taking place. This type of housing has proven to be a viable alternative housing for the working age group that is currently seeking residence in the County, yet who are not in an income bracket to afford the purchase of conventional housing. Therefore, it is suggested that more multi-family complexes could be developed in areas where adequate water and sewer services exist.
