§ 4.2. Single-Family Residential

Latest version.
  • Residential growth in Meriwether County is expected to continue in much the same pattern which is occurring at the present time. Besides continued residential development within the county's incorporated communities, almost all of the county's rural areas will experience residential growth. It is recommended that most of this growth take place adjacent to and near present residences along existing rural roads and highways in order to be able to utilize existing public utilities and facilities which might serve particular areas. Also, in areas of the County which are experiencing more concentrated types of growth such as subdivisions, such as around the city limits of Manchester, it is similarly recommended that continued development of this type be encouraged so that existing public utilities and facilities can be most efficiently utilized.
