§ 1. INTRODUCTION

The basic purpose of this narrative is to provide a guide for the general location and pattern of land use in Meriwether County over the next 20 years.

The Meriwether County Future Land Use Plan should be considered as a general recommendation or suggestion rather than a "set in concrete" instrument. After the Planning Commission reviews this recommended Future Land Use Map, it can be modified to reflect the wishes of the Commission. The rationale which Chattahoochee-Flint APDC (CFAPDC) utilized in developing the plan is described below. This rationale should be closely examined prior to making suggested changes.
